It has been created so that we can share information with each other, learn about what's going on in Islington that may of interest to all of us and; to talk to each other about anything we want around Personal Budgets. Whether it be to find a PB user friend, to get tips from someone on a problem or to find out if someone wants to go bowling with you... Although there is a lot of information on this website that could be useful to you please remember to double check if there are new Local Authority processes in place. Please let us know if you have knowledge of new process changes so that we can investigate and update the website if necessary, no matter how small. It may be something that someone else could benefit from too so use our Forums to communicate small changes to other PB users. A Personal Budget is the new way that Islington Social Services will be providing Community Care Services to those that are eligible. Find out how to apply for a PB by clicking on All About PBs and click on the sub headings for specific information around eligibility, financial contributions, SSAQ and SP, appeals and reviews, training and workshops, peer support groups and pooling PBs.
PB Forums
Do you have a question that you want to ask about your PB and want to know what other PB users have done?
Join one or all of the forums and feel free to ask other service users questions about PB issues, hic-cups or even to get some tips on PBs. Choose from any of the forums: * "Going to get a PB" - A forum for people who are in the process of setting up a PB, ask questions, share helpful ideas, or share expereinces here. * "Just got my PB" - A forum for people who have just started usingtheir PB and want to speak to others in the same situation. * "Experienced with my PB" - A forum for more experienced users to share information, ask more complex questions and meet other experienced users. * "PAs and Carers" - A forum for PAs and Carers of PB holders to share tips or useful information that helps you complete your role. * "Activities and Services" - A forum where you can find someone else who has similar intereststo yours and where you can arrange to go together or as a group. It can help you make your PBstretch a little further, it could help youfind someone (or even a group) that you can Pool your budgets with and then everyone gets more out of their PBs.
